Skwez.com (pronounced "squeeze") is a free service that helps you find suitable matches for sharing a ride in your car or somebody else's car, whether you are doing it once in a while or on a regular basis.

You can plot your drive or ride on a map without registering: simply type your start and destination address. Go ahead and try it!
To find matching participants, you will need to register with the system, by providing an email and password and by choosing a username; gender is optional.
If you want to register as a driver, you will need to provide some information about your car (color, make, license plate). The license plate is needed so that passengers will recognize your car. It will only be shown to people to whom you have offered a ride.
You can register a drive or a ride with the system, for a specific time range.
As a driver, you can indicate the exact path of your drive. The system will match you with other participants who need a ride with start and destination points close to your drive.
For every matching trip, the system will suggest a cost that should be paid to the driver by each passenger. This cost is based on an estimate for the cost of gas driving the distance of the ride.
As a driver, by picking up just one passenger, the cost of gas will be covered for the distance of the trip.
